Time for a Reality Check
This year has flown by ridiculously fast hasn’t it? It seems like only a few months ago we were packing up the Christmas decorations from last year and now it’s time to pull them all out again!
With the end of another year looming, it is right about now that we start to panic about the things that we thought we would get done by the end of 2016 and haven’t.
There could be big goals, small goals, seemingly incredibly important tasks right down to trivial, inconsequential jobs that you expected to have crossed off your to-do list by now.
Can I tell you something - it is highly unlikely that you will get it all done before the year end. And you know what? That is OK.
The reality is that there is a finite amount of time between now and the end of the year. You could work every hour of the day and night but you will miss out on all the fun!
So today we are going to get real and figure out exactly how much time you have before we attempt to tackle any of these jobs. It might just be more than you think! Here’s how:
· Open up your calendar and (if you haven’t already) update it with everything you have on over the next few weeks – parties, lunches, dinner, school presentation days, shopping – make sure they are all in there.
· Tally up how many working hours you have before Christmas. Be realistic - that lunch you scheduled in for an hour… is it really going to go for just one hour???
· Now you have a very clear picture of exactly how much time you have to get stuff done.
Don’t freak out!!!!!
The world will not end on 23rd December.
Tomorrow I am going to help you best utilise your time and ensure you get all the important things done before the big man in red arrives.
